Windybank's Saxon Cross

Found it! 30 odd mile cycle to locate the Walton Cross, a 10th century Anglo-Saxon stone standing in an uncelebrated spot overlooking the M62 and a wind turbine near Walton Cross Farm.
We missed it on the Kirklees Way last year.......

More things from the Gertrude Bell exhibition...the film of men in pith helmets clambering around Babylon was a bit thought- provoking. I don't expect any of  Babylon remains, although I'm sure there's plenty of other ruins to clamber on.....
