One Hundred and Fifty Lashes
Thanks to Status Quo tribute band "Matchstick Men", I got to sample some Australian beer this festive season. The story goes that James Squire was a convict, discovered stealing ingredients from the stores to make the colony’s first batch of beer when the Judge ordered 150 lashes… plus two barrels of ale.

Christmas is Home- made and Square
This year's Christmas cards, top ranking this year going to "Christmas Words", knocking Santa off top spot, with a tie for 3rd place between the Nativity, snowmen, Christmas trees and deer. Penguins, postboxes and robins were way down this year....and far less cute animals. The top shape was a square, there were more home-made cards (see later in blog). Weirdest card was a carrot family dressed in Santa outfits......

Buddhist Nun
Expect the unexpected.....strange encounters whilst out walking, an octogenarian Buddhist Nun, whose hair had grown back....
