Enlarged Portrait of John Heath's World Famed Beauty
Pen nib advert from inside a box of nibs, which I got given. My sister in law worked in a book shop which was previously a stationers -they were disposing of a shoe box-full of old pen nibs from the 1900s! Birmingham was the pen-making centre industry in 1865 and according to one Mr Timmins there were 12 steel pen manufacturers making 14,112,000 pens a week using up to 10 tons of steel!

Top Cards
My Favourite Christmas cards this year isn't shown without the permission of the young artist, whose Christmas tree being decorated by elves with hidden health and safety hazards is just brilliant eg. an elf being electrocuted by fairy lights! Inside the card he's being taken to hospital on a stretcher...... Home made top prize here though to Jayne Wayne for her lino cut, Al Phil for her collage and "Yorkshire Air Ambulance at Roseberry Topping" by Anita Bowerman with thanks to Rosemary and David.
Top Ranking Santa
This Year's Most Popular Christmas Card designs received by us Stewarts.
1st: Santa, 2nd: trees, 3rd: deer/ reindeer. Hares, Christmas greetings, snowmen and snowy streets next, with a poor showing from owls, penguins, dogs, robins, sheep, cars, bears, teddies, mice, flowers, nutcrackers and the 12 Days of Christmas. Bringing up the rear: a duck, a peacock, highland cattle, a candle, a snowflake, a gingerbread house, 3 Wise Men, an angel, a prayer, Joy, Glory, Mary, Joseph, Jesus and a Christmas pudding disco ball.....
