Orange Wood & Helme
Sights and sounds around Helme this afternoon. A large flock of geese flew across Blackmoorfoot Reservoir, so high up they looked like a long line of ants being pulled by a string. A kindly twitcher with his binoculars out told us they were heading for Southport......

Wassail, Wassail, All Over Town
Wassailing: traditional drinking expedition, where people went door-to-door with their wassail bowl, sharing it around, singing in exchange for gifts....
