Happy 307th Birthday, Dr Johnson

"Dictionaries are like watches: the worst is better than none, the best cannot be expected to go quite true" (Dr Johnson, born 18th September 1709, Lichfield). So saying, some of his prejudices got into his dictionary, the most famous one being: "Oats: a grain, which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland supports people"
